A VE-ry Special Day!

Fish and chips played a big role during the second World War, feeding the nation, keeping the factories working and keeping up morale during extremely worrying times.

The National Federation of Fish Friers and Chippy Chat have once again teamed up with Pageantmaster to the King Bruno Peek to help highlight the role fish and chips played in the war effort and allow the industry to take part in the celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe on Thursday 8th May 2025.

We have put together an initiative to try to drive sales to your shop. We want to mark this unique anniversary by encouraging the general public to have a fish and chips party. The NFFF have produced an interactive map for them to find businesses who are taking part and all you have to do is register your shop and agree to offer a 10% Discount on orders over £50 on the day! Interest is already high with lots of shops already onboard.

To show your interest all you need to do is to add your shop to our VE Day webiste here

Austen Dack Chippy Chat Publishing Editor said: "It is with great honour that we work with both Bruno Peek and the NFFF on this project. Our aim is to sign up many shops across the UK to take part in this historic occasion. The parties can be at lunchtime in the afternoon or in the evening."
